The basis for progress lays in recognition by the parties of «1992 Consensus.» They discussed the idea of a peace agreement, but the obstacle here is the ambiguous attitude to it of Taiwan and, probably, the Chinese leadership. The U.S. is not interested in Taiwan’s moving to «independence», although not refuses to sell military hardware to the island. Generally, the peaceful development of relations between two sides of the Taiwan strait is running with high degree of stability.

Modern computer strategies are quite realistic in simulating conditions of coexistence for different civilizations. The player leads his state from the primitive settlement to a giant empire in a dynamic world, full of threats and challenges. Overindulgence in pursuing one direction of development or tense relations with some neighboring countries result in waste of resources, growth of confrontation and inevitable collapse. On the contrary, by balancing various politics one can expand its zone of influence and claim for a superpower status. In defiance of resolutions passed by several international conferences on drug control issues, including the sessions of the Shanghai Commission on Opium (the 100 th anniversary of which was celebrated in 2009), Britain used opium trade widely to fund the governance of its domain on the Chinese soil until 1945, when under the US pressure it was forced to ban such activities.
